[RBW] Nitto Saddlebag Uplift Support Info.

I picked up one of these from a list member and just wanted to know what the history behind this was. I've read these were sold by Rivendell, then looks like they were discontinued altogether, though that's about all the info I could find. The up angle certainly is extreme to me for a saddlebag

We use one of these to mount a country bag on my girlfriend's 47 cm Saluki. There' not enough room between the seat and the tire/rack for a large bag, so that's where the uplift comes in. There is a lot of hardware back there, what with a rack and the uplift, but it works. The uplift comes

So are you going to bend it out to make it a seat-post based platform? It was not meant to be a platform, more of a hanger to hold the bag. would like to see how far you can bend it out as it's a pretty extreme bend as it is. On Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 4:33:38 PM UTC-4, David Banzer

David: Rivendell still carries the Nitto "Saddlebag Grip" but that can't be what you mean, since it is not at all angled up, as I learned the hard way when I tried to mount it on a Flite. Do you in fact have a Carradice "Uplift"? Patrick Moore, who has a Nitto S Grip on the way 'cause the

It's Nitto, mounts to the seatpost. I'm guessing Riv sold these in the early 00s. David Chicago On Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 2:19:21 PM UTC-5, Patrick Moore wrote: > > David: Rivendell still carries the Nitto "Saddlebag Grip" but that can't > be what you mean, since it is not at all angled

Thanks for the photo, I get it now. I think I will go ahead and try and bend it horizontal to serve as an actual bottom of a saddlebag support. David Chicago On Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 3:16:39 PM UTC-5, Andy C. wrote: > > Here's a picture. > --AC > > On Sunday, September 27, 2015 at

I have one of these as well. I use it on a saddle without loops. Contrary to the name I don't think it provides all that much lift as I still use a rack to keep the bag off the tire. I do like how it moves the bag a little farther back so it's not up against your butt. -- You received this

I believe you are right, Minh, the straps are intended to mount at the top of the Uplift instead of to the saddle. This is how the product "uplifts" the bag compared to it's placement on the bag loops. On Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 3:19:56 PM UTC-7, Minh wrote: > > So are you going to bend
