I just read that the spark plug change interval is 30k miles and this car has
91k on it. New plugs and wires might be due.

Sounds like the distributor cap and ht leads got wet, either humidity (most
likely) or a deep puddle. Pop the cap off, spray with WD40 and give the ht
leads a spray as well.
Missing caused by water shorting the electrics. This is a common problem where
I come from in England and we all
I seem to recall those cars, and many other Chrysler products, being
susceptible to crank angle sensor failures. The symptoms sound familiar. Check
that out.
