Sorry to join this conversations late. I no longer keep track of how many miles I have on a chain. I do keep them clean and change them when they get to .75 on my park tool. When I kept track of those things I found I got about 1000 miles more out of the Wipperman Conex chains than I did out

I get 2K miles out of SRAM 8 speed chains, and I am careful about keeping them lubed and clean. This mileage is consistent whether waxing or the wipe 'n' lube method, generally performed every ~200 miles. Sub 10 speed doesn't help.(FWIW, I got the same miles out of the one 10 speed chain I used, a
