IMO Phil BBs are a waste of $$$. The bearings don't last any longer than those of a Shimano UN53/54/55, and when the time comes, it costs more to replace them. CK headsets are awesome, but any decent sealed cartridge bearing headset will give long service. -- You received this message because

I have the Chris King headset on my X0-1 and 2 Rivs. 10-year guarantee is hard to beat and they seem to be very well-sealed and set-em, forget-em.Both Rivs have the Phil BB - stainless steel, not Ti...that seems a little overkill. I did have some issues with the Phil on my A/R ; creaking,loose.

I use regular unsealed bearing headsets, but have always tossed the bottom cages and added bearings on the bottom race to avoid notchy steering. They will go virtually forever that way. But lately I'm all about the needle bearing headsets Riv is carrying.no fuss :) On Tuesday, April 3
