I was cycling with my brother in Switzerland a few years back, and he got a cut in the side-wall of his tyre big enough for my little finger to fit through. I asked if he had a banknote on him, and he produced a 200 franc note, which I used to boot the tyre. We only re-inflated it to about 30 psi

Boot that for sure! I carry a tiny square of tyvek in my kit as an emergency boot. Many of us have used a dollar bill as a boot. On Wednesday, April 10, 2013 1:00:59 PM UTC-7, john muhl wrote: Thanks everyone. Guess I was overreacting. I went ahead and applied a boot and remounted it.

Boot the cut inside with a piece of casing cut from an old tyre and use Shoe Goo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoe_Goo) to fill the cut in the tread. On Wednesday, 10 April 2013 08:53:23 UTC+10, john muhl wrote: If these weren't brand new I'd replace it without second thought but the

In the two years I've been riding Hetres I've had several similar gashes with no ill effects. Generally, they've been caused by very small pieces of glass--or the gash somehow came first and the glass got in--and so I've had to get tweezers and pull the glass out. But the gash itself has never

Good idea to patch the tire. Even if it's a little square of duck tape. You couldn't run that cut with a latex tube - it would blow right through. On Tuesday, April 9, 2013 5:56:33 PM UTC-5, C.J. Filip wrote: Patch the tire itself. Keep an eye on it. No way I would throw it away
