Roeckl gloves seem to last, are nicely padded, and, depending on the model,

I normally ride without gloves unless it's cold, but for long rides I will
wear those Specialized gloves to help prevent nerve damage. I didn't know
such gloves existed.

simply wear a basic inexpensive leather glove from either Kinco or Wells
Lamont. I particularly really like the Kinco reinforced Buffalo leather
versions.($8-15 depending on retailer). Of course there's no extra padding,
Specialized Dual Gel = more padding. Cut off the the velcro thingy. Still
have to deal a bit with left on hook part attached to the glove. And they
have little "pullers" at the base of the fingers that make it easier to get
