Another vote for the King Iris. Have them on my Sam Hillborne.
Luckily, my LBS (Hiawatha Cyclery) usually has them in stock.
The inexpensive Planet Bike cages seem to do a good job of holding
Kleen Kanteen bottles without excess noise.

I've tried the VO Classic, the VO Moderniste and King cages with
varying degrees of success in securing my Kleen Canteens. The
Modernistes seem to be the weekest and require a squeeze every now and
again to hold the canteens quietly. The King cages work the best for
me.

Can't speak for the Laken specifically, but I had the same rattle
problem with bottle cages (Nitto 'R', Blackburn, Specialized, you-name-
it) with Klean Kanteen bottles. I found these

house - they're vendor give-away insulators
I had two VO Retro Waterbottle cages

and I a weld broke on one within 50 miles. Granted I may have
squeezed it a little to much but it seemed pretty flimsy.
I just picked up two King Cage
I had one of those fail, but not as quickly as yours. VO promptly sent me a
replacement, and I haven't had any trouble since then (about a year ago).
During that time, on another bike, a genuine Nitto cage broke. I checked with
Rivendell, and the said it was out of warranty.
Bike stuff breaks.
Just a personal opinion, but I don't think the Nitto cages are
particularly sturdy. Very handsome, and obviously well made, but not
very tough. I've had two of them on my Riv Road and took them off,
after bending one somewhat askew when I shouldered my bike to carry it
up some stairs. At the
+1 for the King Iris cages. Just bought them last week, and very
happy with them. Work great w/ 23oz metal bottles and are slightly
bendable.Good stuff. FWIW, I got 'em from these guys on ebay:

I have both types cages and the Laken bottles are silent in each. The Kings
are super solid, even off-road.

For the record: I broke three Nitto butterfly cages after relatively few
miles holding 28 oz Eleven Gear thermos (= double wall) water bottles, and
they were designed for regular bike cages. King Iris cages are far more
secure and, for that matter, far more quiet.
