We've never had orange panel decals (the web may prove me wrong on this,
but I sure can't remember any, and if we ever did it was another brain
ago)and not many painters could pull it off. It is trickier than mere
mortals such as we can appreciate, so my moolah says Joe Bell did it, and
Really nice Rob! Great color.

Yeah, I like the colors. A local builder often uses a similar color scheme
on his signature bikes.
Are you using a clamp on/threadless stem on a threaded steerer tube? I've
read that that can lead to the steerer cracking but I don't know personally
if that is a realistic concern...

Thanks to all. Previous owner (Joe) did all the color choosing. The
steerer was completely revamped to threadless so all should be good.
Did about 4.5 hours yesterday on the bike and it performed
flawlessly. Only concern is my racy saddle...good for a couple
hours then the butt starts asking
That is so true. Today while riding my new racer I put on my only
real biking shorts, put a tube in my back pocket, and wore my old
Carnac shoes! A little different than my ordinary rides. Kind of
nice to have a little variety in the biking routine.

Beautiful bike! I was a day late and dollar short buying that very one, and am
glad I lost it to a good home! :)

Looks great! You're right, not the typical Riv build but that is basically
the setup I'd go for (assuming Grant would let me) if I ordered a custom
Riv road. Maybe with 47-57mm reach brakes, though, so I could fit fenders
+ Ruffy Tuffy's in the winter.

That silver orange combo is quite striking. Bikes look so good
before we clutter them up with junk to make them utilitarian. That's
a bike that would get me to thinking about stuffing all my crapola in
jersey pockets. Uh-oh, the ice is gettin' thiin...
