and a few peek-a-boo views of the surrounding terrain. It's worth the ride

Actually, this is true: a recent after-work ride involved a climb up Mt.
Tabor from the West, with a descent on the east side, and a jaunt along the
205 multi-use path with a nice ride along the Columbia River and the
Airport (where you'll get buzzed by jets!).

Banks Vernonia is pretty any time of the year. We don't get fall colors
like New England, though.

trail, and a gem. Drive out to Banks (Hwy26-Hwy6, Banks is first exit on

Franklyn, if you're out riding on a clear sunny day you should ride Larch
Mtn. It's a long climb, 14 miles, that's never steep and once you're at the
top you can pedal/hike to the lookout which gives you amazing views of all
the big volcanos in the area--Rainer, St Helens, Adams, Hood,
