I know people will & should ride what they have & what they like, but it strikes me that if you plan on riding mostly on the road that maybe a Hunq. Wouldn't be the best choice? The Hunq tilts more towards dirt/trail use (and loaded at that) so I imagine it's a bit stiffer then a road machine

I have the Snoqualmie pass tires on my Appaloosa. Been riding them for a while now and they still measure 41mm on rims as narrow as velocity twin hollows and as wide as the stock wheels that came with the complete Appaloosa. They ride really nice though and feel bigger than they are when riding

i had the snoqualmie pass 44s on my hunq but they were way smaller than i expected so i took them off instantly and went back to 55 big bens. it just felt inappropriate to have such a small tire on there, and i have a true road bike so i am not relegated to making a dirt touring bike into one.

John - Most of my riding is on pavement; depending on my commute, about four miles may also be on the packed clay and gravel of the local tow path. I started out with 50mm Schwalbs on my Hunqapillar; the ride was great, the gravel felt like pavement, the pavement felt like silk, etc.
