I ordered a PV-8 from Riv a couple days ago. I've been using the PD-8 for
over a year now with stellar results and I expect the same from the PV-8. I
haven't tried a Son or Shimano, but the quality of the SP units has been
stellar. FWIW, Riv has the cheapest online price for the PV-8s!

Can we stop harping on this? The SON hubs probably have the lowest drag of
all the dynamo hubs but they're almost twice as expensive. I love them,
they're gorgeous, but if someone built me a wheel with a shimano dynamo hub
I'd hug them and buy them a beer.

FWIW, SP claims that their 8 series hubs have similar performance to
SON. The fact that they cost less than half as much is neither here
nor there. I am going to try one and compare it to my SON Deluxe
Widebody. I will let the group know what the

Bought an SV-9 from my LBS last week. It's the lightest and lowest drag
option out there right now, and was only $140. I wonder if Riv is going to
be stocking the 9?
