UPDATE: Talked to Riv, and they said sometimes they get a 27 seat tube from
Waterford. They immediately sent me the correct seatpost for free (without
me even getting a chance to reply).
Really awesome service, as always!

Thanks. I'm contacting Rivendell. Here's what's strange: it turns out that
the S83 seatpost on my Hunq (which I bought complete from Rivendell) is a
26.8! I'm really hoping a 27.2 will fit.

John, I would go back to Bill's excellent questions because, in a private email
back and forth, he helped me solve the exact same issue with my Hunqapillar. If
the Atlantis could have ever had a slightly smaller seat post installed and
then the bolt tightened, the correct size will not fit.
Post, or pillar?

Sometimes something as simple as a burr on the inside edge of the seat tube
can make a seat post feel too snug, in which case a round bastard file will
take care of it in a few seconds. If you get the bike back feel inside
the seat tube with your fingers.

Also have they measured the actual seatpost?
Also have you ever installed your own seatpost? One person's tight is
another's just right

My Atlantis took a 27.2 seatpost
When you say "your Atlantis"... do you mean:
A. Your brand new Atlantis frameset, straight from Rivendell Bicycle Works?
B. Your old Atlantis, that you had built before, but are having rebuilt
after a repaint or something?
C. Your old/new Atlantis, purchased
But definitely not 27.2 inches. Even sewer pipes are only 4 inches.

Nope. It is 27.2. Every seatpost I've ever had was a tight fit and comes
out scratched.
