Wind: yes indeed! I went on a 21 mile out and back on the gofast yesterday,
more or less southward, with wind gusting to 24 mph from NW. Averaged 17.27

Sounds like a lovely trip. I enjoy cycling the northern section of OBX. You
are right about the wind! My first day there this past summer I had an
unrealized tailwind until I turned around to head back. Boy did that
realization crush my ego!
