Thanks, guys! I found an old pair of horse hide running sandals that were glued to a thin rubber sole. Remove the straps and instant stiffish insert. Did a wee ride, enough for proof of concept. Tried with the Sylvan pedals. Feel much improved. I’ll likely ride these for now while puzzling out
