Jacob, The ride to Steep Ravine was harder than I expected, but totally doable. I was in full sunlight the whole way there so I got pretty hot. I had to walk my bike a few times. But it only took 3.5-4 hours to get there. And I was going pretty slow. The ride back was overcast and easier. But

Austin, I'm glad that you were able to stuff 2.6" tires in that Clem, but I'm pretty surprised. I've got 2.4" tires in mine and the chain rubs the tire a bit in the lowest gear on the small ring. It's not an issue and it's not constant, but when I'm on rough terrain it will wiggle around

Bruce Thanks. Yes the Ram is a 650 conversion which was pretty easy given the long reach brake calipers. I've had this bike for approximately 10 years now, and it has had many different set ups. The Ram is better on gravel as the tires are 42s with 35s on the Legolas and with the BB is a bit

I’m running a similar setup on a 59 Clem with large fluted VO fenders and tubeless Cazadero 50mm tires. The tires pick up small pebbles sometimes which makes a small tinking sound (I prefer silence) but other than that I’m very happy w the setup. Super solid feel and a joy to ride.

Agree, that's one of the best looking Clem's I've seen! Beautiful. I am really surprised how many Clems are set up without fenders - not only does the Clem look a lot better with fenders imo, I also think they are a requirement for any "everyday" type of bike.. but then again, it rains here
