thanks for the advice. unfortunately, dropping $2,000 is not a realistic option for my budget... though that would be nice. my extra components are mostly vintage, and would work most easily on another vintage frame anyway. pudge, that's good to hear/yours is great looking. i would also

You're not scratching your saddle, you're creating beausage, the patina of love and use! Or you can strip and spread your shirt down on the ground to spare your loved one any discomfort. Bonus points for each 10 degree drop in wind chill below 32F/0C, extra bonus points if you use your pants!

I have one of those bikes - don't even want to say what I paid at a garage sale, but cheap. It's been a good town bike that I haven't done much to but put a rack on, and I like the geometry for that use. Also, that kind of french blue is a sweet color, IMHO. But...it's a heavy beast.

I have a set of Nokia Hakkapeliitta A10s I bought from Peter White. 700x32s. They have less than 50 miles on them. I've mounted them 3-4 times on my Synergy rims, but I don't commute and instead of my Homer, which I bought them for, I'm riding my Hunqapillar more in the snow. $70 for the pair.
