As were mine. I've gotten outer rings for as little as $10 apiece. It's worth checking eBay.co.uk and eBay.fr as well; searches on the US site don't always root out items on the foreign sites. I'm pretty sure I have a 52T or two that I'm unlikely ever to use. Give me the day to check my stash.

Patrick, they look like them for sure. I would say almost all current (last 5 years) welgo spd clone pedals take shimano cleats no problem. I would say most modern shimano pedals usually take modern welgo spd clone cleats. The ones that don't fit the most category are the ones to watch out

The more I think about this, the more I think it is a small variation in hole size. I'll bet that on the valve stem eating rims, the whole is slightly larger than typical, and the tube gets tweaked in there. I don't think my calipers are precise enough to tell a difference, but I'll look into
