Glad to hear there is Riv interest in that great city of yours. My

I can confirm that the 700C Free Radical does, indeed, concede tire/
fender clearance. I could not fit a 35c Hakkapeliitta with a fender on
the 700C Free Radical.
This is the reason I changed the rear wheel on my 700C long bike (a
Bianchi touring bike) to a 26in disc with a larger tire. The
Some remarkable pictures, obviously some audacious climbs (Gavia,
among others). Marginally on-topic (Riv sells Jobst's book The
Bicycle Wheel), rewarding regardless.

In my opinion, s'all good - the more companies making smart/high-

Thank you for the link to Hebie - wow!
I have a kickstand mounting plate on my Bombadil, but I also had
little success with the Pletscher stand, even before starting my tour.
I know others have had spoken highly of the two-legged Pletscher, but
the bike simply wasn't stable in wind or on

I hope it's ok if I weigh in here, I just bought a Quickbeam and I'm

In touring, I've found the low end to be the limitation and the
dividing line between pain and pleasure. So much depends on your
fitness, the terrain and the weight you will be carrying as well as
My two cents' worth would be that you're geared too low. I suggest
setting yourself up with around 70-72 gear inches. You can always go
to the small ring (or flip the hub) if you come to a prolonged climb.
I rode PBP (lots of rolling terrain) in 72, and thought later that I

The sneaker pedals are closely related to BMX pedals - they are wider
than Grip Kings. I have GKs, but don't use them because my feet tend
to roll off the sides; the GKs are not wide enough for my
preference. I use pedals similar to the sneaker pedals on all my
bikes.
Now you have to do it.. you are already imaging the ride, the
conversations, the finish. If you use another bike now, you will spend
the whole ride wondering about/ wishing for the QB. You've destroyed
your chance of happiness on another bike.
But yeah, I think you have rocks in your head.
