Well the tire thing can make people crazy, so my impressions are in no
way scientific. :) I am using the EL Compass versions and I did notice a
difference. The Compass tires make the bike feel faster (I don't know if
it is true or not, I don't use a computer) and they roll a bit easier on

After trying all the methods -- removing to soak in solvent; useless
on-the-bike chain cleaners; waxing -- I've fallen back on the wipe
occasionally but thorooughly and drip more lube on and then wipe again
method. I don't see any fewer miles per chain.

I have a Salsa Vaya and do like it a lot. But I am pretty tempted by the new
2015 GT Grade! There are many versions (carbon/aluminum and Ultegra with
hydraulic discs all the way down to Sora (I think)), but the top end aluminum
model for about $1,750 complete might be too tempting.
