I have never been a tourist, commuter, or randonneur, but ever since I
first had a conversation with Grant at Riv Headquarters, I have been a firm
believer in Grant's bike designs. I am just a club rider that will do a
century if I am talked into it. My first Riv was a Ram in around 2003 or 4.

I agree the bike looks too small bc of all the seat post showing, while
her handle bars look to be an inch or so below the saddle height. She
should get a proper bike fitting or use Riv's PBH guide. I wouldn't spend
money trying to make a bike that is too small more comfortable.

the inside, like old SunTour XCM cranks but with a quite narrow gap between

Many factors come into play. At the moment I have a sugino crankset from
RBW with 24/33/43 rings on it mounted on my Bombadil with a 107mm cartridge
bb. Its close but despite the curves everything clears the chainstay. Mind
you a 26 small ring would not clear with that bb, so ...
