I'm liking the choco-moose bars on my 65, but that's coupled with a lay back
seatpost to get more reach and better wheelies. It's a 27.2 Nitto lugged post
with a shim, shimming due to the difficulty in finding a lay back post in
Clem's somewhat odd 29.8 seatpost size.

Howard,
The Ortlieb Bike Packer Plus panniers have 42L capacity and are rear bags.
They're big. I'm selling my brand new pair because they're too big for my
needs. The Sport Packer Plus are smaller (30L; I own these, too), but still
bigger than the Front Roller and FR Plus at 25L. The names are
My 45 Clem was right on the edge of being too small for me..the reach was too
close with Choco-Moose. I was happier with Albas on a 12cm stem.

Thanks for the input. It looks like I'll be going with a Nitto M18 then.

The ortlieb bike packer plus are the small front bags that are 25 liters. I've
used them with the HAR on my Atlantis. I had no problems.

Interesting, I was thinking only Toyo's featured water bottle mounts.
What's that color called? Creamsicle orange?

I'm definitely going to noodle with the Ergon grips. I think I might have
them oriented too vertically as you mentioned.

The Rosco Bubbe has two sets of bottle cage mounts and the Liftatube, so
it's definitely possible to have two cages and a handle. It just needs the
cages to be mounted kind of high up, particularly on the seat tube to be
out of the way. For sure both cage bolts need to be above the derailer

Seems like it's getting kind of slow around here. I remember on the old Bleriot

Hi, I might be wrong here, but are the Ergon grips set up so the wedge supports
your palm? In the photo it looks like the widest part is facing down rather
than horizontal to support the lower part of your hand. I haven't used ergons

Looks great! I'm building a gray 55 too. I was going to use VO Porteur bars
but got the Choko norm. I prefer them to the Albatross that I have on
another bike. I may end up cutting 3/4-1 inch off the ends. The pump peg is
sized for a Zefal.

Yes... there is definite magic to the bike. Mine is a 53 and set up very
differently: Albastache bars, Tubus/Ortleib rear cargo system, battery LED
commuter lights front and rear.
Rides great. Totes the kitchen sink if necessary. Frame is drop-dead
beautiful. Pleases the eye in every respect.
