There is a guy who beeswaxes his so they don't deteriorate while in a bike bag,
jersey pocket, etc. The article was in a RoadBikeRider newsletter back in May
2017.

On the recent "Saluki" thread, Mark made a funny reference to the Odd Couple,
regarding immaculate bicycles and their opposites.
I'm a definite Oscar. I start out a bike build in full Felix mode, but then
don't clean it much or mess with it until something wears out or I get another

I've never heard of snap and pops, so looked it up:

The only thing that makes me nervous sometimes while riding is dogs, and if
these might dissuade a mutt in pursuit then I want some. Where can I buy
some? I live in Indiana in case that matters.

Thanks everyone. I'm researching all of these as I make my way through the
posts. I suppose that I may have over stressed "off-road". While It certainly
needs to be capable on poorly maintained dirt roads. I also, almost more
importantly, need it to be able to get to 70mph or so on the highway.
If I ever have the pleasure of going on a ride with Steve, it will be like
Oscar and Felix taking their bikes for a spin.

I have a Brentwood and don't suffer from the heat on warm days. It's not as
cool as muy Lazer but not uncomfortable.

Hi RBW-folk,
There's a Michigan iBOB (internet Bridgestone Owners Bunch) event coming up
on Saturday, Oct. 14 and we'd love for our RBW list friends to join us for
a casual ride followed by food and socializing.
Almost a dozen iBOB's have expressed interest so far, please join us if you
can!
Oh boy, I spent the last 5-7 years away from bicycles on a dual sport
motorcycle spree. Be careful, it's a slippery slope...
First of all, stay away from anything more than 15-20 or so years old.
Motorcycles don't age well, and the old twin shock, drum brake bikes just
sucked.
The bike that
Brand spankin' new, never opened.

Here in MD you can buy them at convenience stores. I wonder if they are a fire

I've played with the poppers in Delhi; as a boy, we'd shoot them from the
backseats of taxis with slingshots at passers by, stupid little shits that
we were. I've not seen them in this country.
It looks as if Amazon has or had them.
Sent a message. The current connectors will need to be cut off to fit a
Shimano connector. However, there is plenty of wire to do this.

I have a Schmidt hub on my Hunqapillar and an SP on my Atlantis. Both power
an Edelux II and a tail light perfectly. The Schmidt is probably a
better-quality build, but for me there isn't enough difference to justify
the extra cost. I also prefer the SP connector over the two pronged
One cyclist said that he carries snap-n-pops when he rides.
One dog used to chase him down the street.
One snp later and the dog never chased him again. So he recommends carrying
them with you when you ride.
I don't know if they call them snap and pops out in Albuquerque but they are
like tiny
can you post a pic of the wiring connection to the hub? I use a Shimano
dynohub and wonder if the wires need to be cut.

Paong,
I agree, for frames of 54cm and smaller, 650B allows better angles without
TCO. If this was the only factor, then the AHH progression of 650B to 700C
would be the "logical" choice. But not everyone is a "Spock", so many
models seem to co-exist and must fulfill some folks requirements.

I recently sold my last motorcycle, after years of touring throughout North
America. For a time I had a Honda 650 dual sport, but that was a mistake. Some
of the riding I was doing was too technical for a bike that tall and heavy. A
friend with a long history of riding performance bikes bought

The Boulder can fit 32mm, maybe 33, no room for fenders nor does it have
fender mounts.
The Roadeo is built around the 33.3 Jack Brown, had fender mounts. 28mm
with fenders will work well.

My only experience is with the Schmidt SON hub, but I absolutely love it. I
feel almost no drag when I use it, and it still produces a nice bright
light when I'm crawling uphill at 8 mph. I'm not sure about the Shutter's
performance at those speeds.

Adding to the sale is is a set of Ortlieb Back Roller Plus panniers.
Thought about starting a new thread, but will see how this turns out. I
think they are from 2010. They have some discoloration, but in fine
condition.
How about $105 shipped.
The larger sized Roadeos (59 and above I think) have similar gauge tubing to
the AHH. The sizes smaller than that use lighter-than-AHH tubing.
I have a 61 cm Roadeo and like it a lot, but realize that I could have had a
more versatile bike in an AHH without having sacrificed much.
