Nice setup! Since you've lost weight on your 10x200 challenge, one of those
bags will be, for all intents and purposes, a freebie...

Where should I look for photos from the event? Peter's Flickr? Somewhere else?

Mine's still hanging from the pipes in my office, I spent valuable build time
trying and failing to track down a 26.8 seatpost with mucho setback. So I'll
start tomorrow night too, how long until the fully built unveiling?

Patrick,
Beautiful photos and great prose. I'm glad you are enjoying the snow! I always
like the first snowfall and am sated at that point.
All the best,

Apologies up front. The frame arrived today, but I have to wait until tomorrow
night to reveal it as I'm not in the right place at the right time. 9 months to
the day from full payment to delivery. 2 grown kids and four grandkids, but I
feel like a new father!
More to come. Tomorrow night. I
Garth: I'm hoping a delayed start to our first snow (it often comes
mid-late September) means a hard, cold winter this year!
Doug: If so, winter only lasted 10 minutes, which is how long my bike lay
there before I took the picture. Grin.

I've taken my Saluki a couple of times; the All Rounder once, and I plan to
take the new-to-me Appaloosa this year; My wife and I have taken the
Raleigh Tandem four times. A few of those trips were in wind and rain.
Assateague is amazing. I usually see a Riv or two, but mostly riders rush
Kudos to a good score! I don't care what color it's painted. You riden' the
bike or riden' the paint? The Atlantis is a fine bicycle no matter the
color and last time I checked mine it's steel and I can redo the hairdo if
I'd like. Just the same I happen to like the paint on yours. Enjoy!

Hah ! Stuff happens to happens all the time and all over indeed. I recall
going back to ye land of purple people eaters, that's Minnesota, a few years
back in the fall and it snowed a wee bit it was October 1 !

You may be safe a wee bit longer, Lum Gim Fong. Winter lands from above,
and at 8-10,000 feet for most of my rides, it lands early and stays late.
Good news (for me) is I'm stupid enough to love it! Ear to ear grin.
Kai, I think you're seeing foreground perspective seeming to enlarge the
tire.
Lovely! It's still summer (and a very muggy one at that) for at least
another minute or so in NYC. Can't hardly wait for the snow to fall. What's
that whopper of a front tire you have on there? Looks huge, maybe lens
distortion, but from that angle it looks close to 3", maybe it's the snow
Cool pics, and thanks for the demonstrations that happy biking can happen
in all weather.
Be careful, though. In some parts you would get ticketed for even
mentioning the word "Winter" before its time. Ha ha!
49 winters is enough for me! ha ha!
Our Nov-March "cold" weather is enough for me. I

Thanks. I like the idea of a shorter, later ride, as it's about a 4 hour drive
down there for me. I'll wait and see what the route info is when it's posted.

I'm still in. I talked to Johnny (aka Ultra Romance) and Troy from Crust about
it at French Fender Day. It sounds like some of the off road sections might
require larger tires but a lot of the route will be on quiet paved roads.
They're going to post three routes of varying distances later
Forwarding this in case anyone in the Sacramento/SF area can help. Keith’s AHH
was stolen from Davis on Saturday.
If you don’t see the bike in the wild, BOLO for ads on Craigslist, etc.

Bumping this up. Anyone else interested? I'm thinking about it. I don't have a
road bike that fits 42mm tires (recommended on the bikereg page), so I'm
thinking 29er MTB. Bad idea?

Rich: please do post the RR Jobst article, or a link to it, when you get a
chance. I'd like to see it again. Thanks.
An aside: I find it rather amusing that Jobst's 700C bikes have proportions
that look like my 559-wheeled bikes; his must have had 70 cm c-c seat tubes.
Patrick Moore, who hopes
Talk about underbiking. Wow! Thanks Patrick.
You're correct. Grant did an interview with Jobst and published it in a RR. Not
able to post it until tonight or tomorrow, but will unless someone else beats
me to it.

Ty, that's a fine example of an Atlantis. Well used, versatile and lots of good
years left in it. The essence of a Rivendell!

It looks superb. Just right as far as my preferences are concerned. A great
illustration of why it's the Atlantis is quintessential rivbike for many of
us.
