Very clever!
There's real use for these.

Congrats! Any plans on changing the build or just ride as is? I do love a
turn-key used bike.

Due to some stupid mix-up I have only 1 brake lever for my bike so I need
to get a new set and that's not easy right now. I am hoping someone has
some they will part with. Bike is a 50cm Cheviot with Tektro R559 Brakes.
Anyone have anything that will work for me? Thanks.

The XC Pro is a cassette hub?? Yep, that baby is rare, it came right at the
end of Maeda Suntour's run. Let's see your bike!

Since starting this thread last March, I acquired a double 1Up and it works
great. I have no problem mounting my 59cm Clem L and my wife's Gazelle
e-bike. The the 1Up fender cushion is the answer for fendered bikes. I have
one cushion installed for the rear fender of her bike ... the Gazelle's

cassettes. Great luck for me!

I had a similar creaking/clicking sound recently. I went so far as
replacing my pedals after repacking the bearings (my initial assumption of
the culprit,) yet the creak remained.
I then decided to replace the bottom bracket. I had a spare, after all,
but was putting off dealing with it out
Thanks for the compliment JS! It's a 56cm with 650b wheels. Such a fantastic
bike. Cheers,

Thanks Kushan.
I just screwed a bolt into part of the bracket that came with the flasher.

Yep, I remembered that right after I posted. I think the longest Face

I had some credit and took a flyer on this one. I've wanted a Roadeo for
many years. This one is an odd case, as TCP is calling it both a "Custom"
and a "Roadeo." Vince at Riv HQ suggested that it could be from the time
period when they weren't offering Roadeos per se? I called and got the
Joe,
I'll keep it on the back burner for now, I also have a black one I'm trying
to keep it as part of a complete cockpit but might use initially to check
fitment.
I did however visit Analog's site per your recommendation and didn't see
anything in 10cm+ options, but they do have very cute

Hi Bill,
For some reason google didn't subscribe me to this posting like usual so I
didn't know there were replies. I tried to respond to you directly so to
not bump the thread a couple days ago but I hadn't heard back and I don't
have anything in my outbox. Maybe I'm doing this wrong? Anyway,
I'm quite familiar with Sansin/Suntour/Specialized cartridge bearing hubs
and by that photo it doesn't appear to be one of those. What gives me pause
is the silver nut right next to the cartridge bearing, the hubs I have use
a black bearing mount that takes a thin cone wrench. The construction
Don't the 3 largest cogs exert the most torque on the freehub ? (I'm
assuming you mean like a 24,28 etc) So could the sound be the cassette cogs
moving against themselves or the freehub body ?

It is my opinion that the riveted-together sub-assemblies in Shimano
cassettes can indeed be kind of creaky. I concur with Joe Bernard that it
makes sense that the gears with a greater chain-angle could be more
susceptible to this kind of thing. I imagine that it could be the steel
cog
You'll have more bend in the chain in those big cogs so you might be
getting some noise from a worn chain/cassette. How many miles approximately
do you have on those parts?

This is going to sound crazy, but is it the saddle, seatpost, or their
interface? That's happened to me more than once, and I've chased sounds
that I'm sure are bottom bracket, crank, or cassette related only to
discover that in certain gears or at certain effort levels, my saddle is
clicking.

It was also Leah's enthusiasm that I saw and felt from her photos and

Could be a Sansin. Sansin made hubs for Suntour at some point in time.

Rad bike, Kushan, and congrats!
I don't have any experience hacking an HPX4 but maybe you could add some
felt washers to the piston between the handle and the main frame body to
effectively add to the overall length of the pump when compressed.
