I feel the space crunch, I'm living in a small apartment in San Francisco with only a small back yard and set up a tarp down there. Nothing special, mostly full of bikes too. Tried building in the house once, but had the same problem of needing to walk up and down the stairs to get parts

I had a similar problem. I mounted the hupe on my bike just for a short ride to carry some bike parts. Jerry rigged a basket onto the hupe and carried a bunch of sugino cranksets and other bike parts (including 12 other hupes). A bit over the weight limit of the hupe, but worked for the ride.
