[RBW] Re: Creaky Billie Bar

2019-07-26 Thread André Pinter
I don't have a billie bar but I do have the choco's and have had similar
creaking/noise/slight movement issues with them. The way I have found to
temporarily deal with the problem is to actually put some chain lube (or
other penetrating oil) around all the interfaces to the sleeve, including
the cut outs. I tried using low viscosity loctite, but that didn't work any
better and perhaps a little worse than the chain lube.

If anyone has a more permanent solution I'd be all ears.

Re: [RBW] Re: RBW at 25: The Fellowship of the Rigs

2019-07-22 Thread André Pinter
Hey folks, I had a super great time meeting everyone I did and if I didn't
meet you, then next time!

I know some folks on the Saturday ride were taking photos/videos, would be
great to get a peek at them since I was mainly concerning myself with
eating enough to survive the climbs. I was curious to know how much
climbing we did Saturday so I put it into mapmyride (if anyone has a less
ad-blighted option for this kind of tool please reply) and it looks to
confirm that yes, my legs were very tired.
https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/2605769890

Thanks,
André

That looks like the one Reed. I don't find the pavement climb too terrible

I added my name on the google doc, I did rsvp on the original eventbrite.
Not sure who is managing that but could be useful to get that list. The
plan is I am riding up from SF with Bill Rhea on Friday, not sure if I'll
stay Saturday night or not. Happy to join others for the ride up.

2019-04-29 Thread André Pinter
I can't say what your dollar to value ratio is, but for me I've got no
regrets! I really liked working with Matt and being to pick it up locally.
The rack does the trick quite well and unlike my old rack (a JandD extreme)
it let me mount fenders without doing anything funky like bending/routing
the stays around the rack. It's also got a slick tab on the bottom of the
stays for mounting fenders if your fork only has a bottom set of eyelets.
