[RBW] FS: Edgevale Railroad Shirt and Ibex Hoodie

2021-08-22 Thread MikeS
Hello All-

Please pardon the IBOB and RBW crosspost.

I have a couple of items of clothing that haven’t managed to work their way
into my wardrobe. I’d like to pass them along to good homes where they will
get some use.

-Edgevale Railroad short sleeve shirt size XL. New with tags. I bought this
on clearance last year but have never worn it. I honestly had forgotten I had
it and just rediscovered it in a pile of other clothes when I was cleaning up
the other day. It’s a nice shirt, but if I’ve had it for a year without
wearing it I should probably pass it along to someone who would. $45 shipped.

-Ibex “Felds” Merino wool Hoodie, chocolate brown, XL: This is a great hoodie,
but it just doesn’t suit my style. I bought it when the first iteration of
Ibex went out of business in ‘18. I have worn it twice and washed it once, but
it’s just been hanging in my closet ever since. It is a very substantial,
super comfortable, medium weight wool in a gorgeous chocolate brown color.
It’s a pullover with a front hand warmer pocket. $70 shipped

Please respond off-list to bee...@gmail.com if interested.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers - Mike in Somerville, MA

[RBW] Re: Best hat for sun protection while walking? -- Not too off-topic

2020-12-10 Thread MikeS
I’ve got a Tilley R7 straw hat, size XL, that I’m not wearing. I tried to flog
it on the Boblist a couple months ago but didn’t get any takers. I just
offered it to Patrick, but alas he’s looking for something more structured. So
here I am hijacking his thread to see if anyone else may be interested.

It’s pretty big. It fits my 7 5/8 melon with room to spare. It is a bit more
floppy/casual than the photos in the links suggest. It’s a sharp hat, just not
my style. I wore it once or twice this spring after purchasing it, but haven’t
found myself grabbing it since.

I’d like to move it along to clear a spot on the hat rack and free up some
budget for Christmas presents, so how does $50 plus postage sound?

Please contact me at beewak at gmail dot com

I’ve included a couple of links and a Tilley size chart below for reference.

[RBW] Looking for hat recommendation similar to Fair Ends cap

2020-07-15 Thread MikeS
Hello folks-

Does anyone know of a cotton cap similar in fit and styling to the Fair Ends
caps formerly offered from Rivendell?

I purchased a waxed cotton cap directly from Fair Ends last autumn and find it
fits my big melon better than any other cap I’ve ever tried. I also liked that
they were MUSA and just seemed like a cool company that I’d like to patronize.
I subsequently bought a couple wool tweed versions over the winter, including
one just as the virus was closing the country down. Fair Ends sent out an
email at the time saying they were closing due to the shutdown, were
liquidating their remaining stock, and hoped to reopen when possible.

As the weather has turned, I find that I’d love a similar cap in a lighter
cotton fabric. Unfortunately their website https://fairends.com is now down. I
have emailed the last customer service address I have but alas have heard
nothing back and fear the worst.

So does anyone have a recommendation for a light cotton cap that might fit like
the Fair Ends? Preferably made by a US-based progressive company run by actual
humans rather than some faceless international conglomerate? Or, for that
matter, a gently used Fair Ends cap?

Cheers- Mike in Somerville, MA

[RBW] FS Albatross bar, Technomic stem, Sugino AT cranks

2019-08-03 Thread MikeS
Hello all-

Please pardon the RBW/iBOB cross-post. I have a few nice BOBish parts I’m not
using and would like to pass along.

-Nitto Albatross bar, CroMo, model B352. Bars are in great shape. I
installed them and rode around for about 3 months but decided they weren’t for
me. No scratches or marks. $50 plus shipping.

-Nitto Technomic stem. 11cm extension, 25.4 clamp. Minor insertion marks, and
a bit of a scuff where I had clamped a bell. Totally presentable for a nice
bike. $25 plus shipping.

I would prefer to sell the bars and stem as a unit. If anyone wants the pair
for $75, I’ll pick up the shipping.

-Sugino AT triple 175 length in very, very nice condition. Barely even
shop-worn. These are too nice not to be on a bike.

I scored them based on the condition and was too smitten and neglected to see
they were 175 when I need 170s.

I think they were take-offs from a brand new bike in the “need to have the
purple anodized cranks on my Fat Chance” era. They’ve had pedals put on, but I
don’t think anyone ever rode them. 110/74 bcd. No rings. $75 plus shipping.

Again, if someone wants these and the bars/stem, I’ll pick up the shipping.

Local pickup in Boston area is another option. I work at a brewery, so if you
want to go that route I’ll buy you a beer...

I can send photos if you are interested. Please contact me off-list at
bee...@gmail.com

Cheers- Mike in Somerville, Mass

[RBW] WTT: Rear Hub - 36 hole, 126 o.l.d

2019-01-20 Thread MikeS
Hello all-

I plan to build up a set of 650b wheels for my commuter as a winter project. I
am looking for a silver, 36 hole, 126 o.l.d., hollow axle, freewheel rear hub.
I can get a new Origin8 one for 30 bucks (and probably will,) but I would
prefer trade something I’m not using than buy new if possible.

I could trade a set of MKS Touring Lite pedals or a set of Cane Creek SCR-5
levers. Both are in decent used condition. (I can describe in detail & send
photos off-list to anyone who’s interested.)

I’m happy to clean and/or overhaul the bearings of something decent. So if
anyone’s sitting on an old, skinny freewheel hub you’re never going to use in
your parts box, let me know.

Cross-posting on iBOB and RBW lists. Please respond off-list to beewak -at-
gmail.

Thanks and cheers-

[RBW] WTB- 25.4 Technomic

2018-06-12 Thread MikeS
Hello All-

I’m looking for a 11 or 12 cm Technomic stem with a 25.4 clamp size. Before I
buy new I thought I’d see if anyone has a spare languishing in their parts bin.
 Serviceable used condition is fine.

I can do Paypal or trade. I’ve got a few cranks, drop levers, some other
stuff.

Please contact me off-list at bee...@gmail.com

Thanks and cheers- Mike in Somerville, MA

[RBW] Long shot- extra Carradice pannier hook?

2016-12-14 Thread MikeS
This is a long shot, here, but would anyone happen to have an orphan hook for a
Carradice Super C pannier? I just snapped one (I stupidly tried to go around a
double parked delivery truck and snagged the pannier...)

I believe I have found a replacement set on-line, but it's for a set of four
and I really just need the one.

This is what I'm looking for:

Please let me know at beewak-at-gmail dot com if you've got one languishing is
some box or drawer.

Thanks- Mike in Bklyn, NY
