I've got a '93 Construction Pumpkin XO-1. Last week, I was riding it
and flagged down by a guy who also has an original. I've seen two
others in NYC.
Right now, there's one on Ebay, with a bid over $2145. With prices
like that, I might sell mine and get an orange hillborne...

Here's why I said Riv-ish -
1) Bamboo handle (seems to fit in with the whole tweed/leather/steel
theme at Riv)
2) Lifetime warranty- according to the company, they'd rather fix it
than have it end up in a landfill
3) They donate a portion of the profits to environmental groups
4) Catalog is 100
I've just ordered one. It looks Riv-ish to me. I'll give you the full
report when it arrives.

Fort Worth, Texas. He's 70, so I want to get him something comfortable
to ride, but cool, too.

My dad is shopping for a bike. He wants it comfortable, so I'm
thinking upright with Albatross type bars. Any suggestions on bikes?
I could get a handsome devil built up for that price.. maybe a LHT
with different bars.
Any suggestions?

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I bought a like-new Bridgestone
X0-1. I just purchased a new old stock fork for it, but the steerer
tube is too short. Is there any way to make it work on my bike?

I just picked up a 93 X0-1 Orange in beautiful shape on craigslist
today for a steal.
I also have a 92 Bridgestone X0-2 in great shape as well.
Question - I could sell the XO-2, keep the X0-1, or sell them both to
fund a Hilborne.
Your opinions?
Also - does anyone know the guy in Cincinnati
Holy smokes. I just pumped some air into the tires. Adjusted the seat.
And took off on a midnight jaunt with a flashlight in my hand.
This X0-1 is fun, fun, fun. My XO-2 is a 52. This is a 55, which fits
me much better. What a blast. I might have to put my nitto rear rack
on it, baggins bag,
I'm in New York City. My wife is 5'4'. Betty Foys are beautiful. I saw
one in the city two weeks ago. But it's out of my price range. I'm
thinking of a bike for a couple of hundred, and then put in another
couple hundred to fix up with Riv/Velo-Orange parts..
I'm searching for a mixte frame for my wife to Riv-up with nicer
components.
Any brand/models of mixtes I should be searching for on Craiglist?

Hey - I've seen your bike zip around Chelsea Piers. I've got a '92
Bridgestone X0-2 with Nitto Rack, Brooks seat, cork hand grips, and
baggins bag.. say hello if you pass me.
I've spotted some Riv gear on the hudson path - a new sackville bag..
Also some Velo Orange stuff as well.
Just do a google search for swiss bread bags. You can get them for 5
bucks a pop. Though there is some guy selling them on ebay for up to
$240/a pair, which is scam-city.
