demand for shorter 54cm and below sized bikes (especially on this list).
I've always had incredible luck with craigslist, but i have the benefit of
being the bay area. Might need to try ebay and suck up the fees to reach a
wider audience. The price is great considering what a new new one costs.

group, and Im in it.
The other thing I'm speculating is that not many people that size and shorter 
are into 700 C around here.
i'm thinking the 700 C crowd around here is the tall folks on the Taller bikes 
that were made by Rivendell with 700c wheels.

Rivendell should get in the second hand bike business, open up a Rivette in
the bay area where they sell all used Rivendells we post on here and use
their website and SF craigslist to get some traction going on these awesome
bikes, plus they get paid on the bike on the resale. Or act as a neutral
3rd party like Ebay where they just allow us to post on a section of their
site and the transaction is held entirely between the seller and buyer with
a small listing fee ;) (kidding, mostly)

Yep, I waffled on selling the Hunq but decided to keep it and glad I did. I
got some Rat Trap Pass tires which make it as fast as any other bike I
have, except for my lightweight Gunnar Sport.

On the tire width discussion, I disagree. I realize the internet is all
abuzz with wider tires and compass is leading the charge with their 650x42
rando bikes and tires. But for a lightweight go-fast bike with no racks or
lights then 33mm is perfect, and I think the Rodeo fits the bill perfectly
for that category (though I haven't ridden one, to be fair). Anything wider
then you're likely wanting to go offroad to some extent, or ride long rando
rides, in which case the SH, AHH, etc are better suited (or any number of
rando/cross/gravel grinder bikes out there now).

It's a great bike.  I just can't justify having two Riv's right now.  You
guys are right, the Roadeo is not as practical as my Sam Hillborne, but
it's much better for fast rides through the neighborhood and it doesn't
break my back when I put it on my roof rack.  It does max out at about 35mm
width tires.  My plan at this point I think is to transfer my racks to my
BStone RB-T from the SH and keep the Roadeo.  Seems like there is a lot
more interest in the SH and I won't loose as much in the sale, but I love
my it too. I'd eventually like to have an Atlantis or Appaloosa.  First
world problems...

There's been a lot of Clem and Appaloosa customers the last year or so..I 
actually owned both for a couple months. I suspect the market for used Rivs on 
this list has been depleted a bit by new bike sales.

I was able to fit Compass Barlow Pass 700x38, but they they ended up measuring 
about 35mm on Velocity Aerohead rims.  This was about as big as I would 
comfortably go.   I'm a little OCD about not rubbing through the paint. Maybe 
2-3mm of clearance on each side between the chainstays.  There was plenty of 
room under the brake arches. I occasionally ride the bike on smooth crushed 
limestone trails and like to have a little extra room.  The Jack Browns fit 
perfect and I think RBW was able to get fenders to work this them on the Roadeo.

I am seeing about 7-8 mm between the top of tire and bottom of brake arch in 
front.  Maybe a little more in rear.  This is with Jack Brown Green tires.  
They are about 33.5 mm wide measured on Velocity Aerohead rims.

I believe they are Neubaums and are clear shellacked.  The bars had been 
wrapped and shellacked by Riv, prior to my purchase.  I put a couple fresh 
costs of clear shellack on them as they were starting to look faded and that 
gave the tape a fresh look.
