IMO 23lb is certainly light enough for a randonneuse. My longest brevet was 400km and I did that on 32mm tires on my Marinoni Turismo ~ 28lb. Now I have also have an rSogn with 40mm Hetre tires, but I'm yet to do a ride longer than 100km on that. I haven't dialed in the fit, but otherwise thnk

Ian I think the Hillborne is the ideal Rivendell rando frame. I'm having a hard time thinking of anything that anybody would want or expect out of a randonneuse that the Hillborne does not deliver. Some people like to do brevets on ultra light carbon road bikes, and perhaps those people

That pretty much answers my question, which was, really, which of the 10 bikes was nicest to ride when you were putting in all those miles? The Hillborne seems to have become a long-term, Rivendell staple, like the Atlantis. I'd probably have kept mine if it could have accepted 50 mm tires ...

Congratulations on surpassing your distance goal. I am curious to know what it is about the Hillborne that makes it suitable for the SR series? Is it mostly a matter of it fitting most comfortably? I've heard so many good things about the Hillborne, but never really as a randonneur. IanA (who

Thanks to all for the kind words. Patrick Moore inquired: "Out of the 10 bikes, which would be the easiest to ride day in and day out? Perhaps, with ~3X the miles on the RLT9 than on the others, this might be the favorite?" I'm not completely sure what you are getting at with "easiest to
