Rivendell on the doorstep overnight. No note. No one claimed it in the few
years I was there. For all I know it's still there.

Sadly they do not! It was Riv that I called; they told me they could tell based
on the SN that it’s a Waterford but didn’t have a record of the owner. Thank
your wife for her kind words (and thanks to all the others here). Rivals are
special so it’s worth it; although I bet someone out there
Dumb question: I know you checked with Waterford, but did you check with
Rivendell themselves to see who the serial number matches up too? Or maybe
Rivendell themselves sold it initially to a dealer? I just can't imagine
Rivendell does not have a record of the FIRST buyer of the bike at least.
