I'm glad to see this thread alive again! I ended up getting a different version
of a mirror for a basket mount. Here's a link to the picture:

It only lasted a few months before my bike fell over and the mirror
Thanks for the pics. I've seen the mirror mounted on the head tube like
that. The basket seems like a better way to go since it gets the mirror
further out.

Sorry for the delay. I have been out of town. I just threw the mirror on
my basket to see if I would like it there. I figured I'd find a more
elegant solution if it worked well. That was a thousand miles ago and it's
still there. One of these days...
Here's a few pictures.
Can you post some pictures?

I have one mounted on the basket on my Sam. I just put a small PVC
coupling in the basket so it had something round to attach to. I can view
it well from any hand position on my noodle bars. It gets in the way once
in a while but I expect that would be the case anywhere it was mounted.

I like mine a little farther down the bar then the first two replies. It
felt like it was in the way higher up. Where I have it I can get my hands
up in the curve of the drops (brake range) without being in the way and
when my hand if further down I slip the post between my fingers.

I had mine mounted like this on noodles, just high enough and just low
enough.

keeping the strap tight to keep it in one place, but then it only had to be

I use it on my commuting bike. The coverage is good enough and the mirror is
rugged. I park the bike behind the door in my classroom and on the porch of my

Not if it's electric, but I don't imagine there are many Nissan Leafs in

A, yes. Except tires on gravel make noise, often more than the engine
does, so electric doesn't matter. Grin.

My wife uses them on both her betty on our tandem. She likes them. I
have also used one and liked it better than other mirrors I have tried.
However, the plastic strap and clamp that holds it to the bars is
inadequate. It seems impossible to get it tight enough to keep from moving

Have one and love it. I have taken it on and off a few times with no issues
on the clamp but it's over bar tape and shellac so no issues with getting
it tight enough on the bars. I have to leave mine slightly loose so I can
move it up when the bikes in the hallway.
