Just finished building up my Cheviot. Its a fantastic bike, smooth ride.
Wheelbase is longer than the Hillborne and bars can be even highe. Altogether
luscious.
One surprise however - - not shown in any Rivendell photos. The decal on the
left side of the bike says Cheviut not Cheviot. When

I rode the 60cm Cheviot yesterday for a short spin (Esteban: I must've just
missed you!). The Cheviot was a really nice ride. A bit more stable and
steady than my Gomez; due to the longer wheelbase and the engine an inch
towards the back design evolution. It's gonna be a great bike.

Nathan, everything you wrote was exactly my experience at the shop last
Thursday. I should have taken a photo of the lug ceiling; it's classic Riv
cleverness. The day I was there, the Cheviot had not been moved down to the
store yet. That sample with the Bosco bar and sprung saddle is sweet;

for me this could be a very appealing alternative to a Hunqa if I were

I like the idea of a mountain mixte but if its the same clearances as the
betty that means max 42s, not mountainish enough for me, personally.

I wonder why the chainstay bridge is so far forward? It makes for awkward

That was all I could think of as well, but with the sidepulls this is
really not a cyclocross or mountain bike. IMHO, of course ;^)

Love the bike except for one part. If I purchased a mixte, it would have

Speaking of which, it might be time for me to take Riv's advice and fill in
the hearts on my Bombadil. Mine is powdercoated orange with a navy blue
panel on the seat tube, but no headtube color and no lug windows. DIY
time! There's about a dozen windows to fill in, including four hearts.
I used a gold leaf pen. Pretty easy even for a goof like me.

I think the new Mixte will be a winner, for riders and for RBW. The longer
