Beautiful bike! Particularly love your harlequin bar-tape job!
My wife/I just did traditional bar-tape with twine and shellac on my Salsa
Casseroll the Rivendell way. We did try to match the leather trim on my
Gilles Berthoud handlebar bag. However, we really admire your bar-tape

Hello Bill,
You decoded my rather too brief question correctly. I was mostly interested in
what you do for lighting on the Hillborne for rando rides. The pictures of the
bicycle in this thread don't show the lighting arrangement and at this time of
year, daylight is limited for brevet rides.
Ian A asked a general question, but I suspect might have meant something
specific. I'm not sure what specific question he meant.
Today? Today, I have a Light and Motion rechargeable battery powered thing
that a friend of mine won at a 24 hour mountain bike race, and he
perma-loaned to me.
What do you use for lighting, Bill?

Do you like the Avocet saddle? I seem to see a fair amount of them in pics
of steel bikes, so they must be popular.

My Hillborne has been through numerous configurations. The Campee F27
front rack that I have installed right now is fairly heavy.
By my bathroom scale reckoning, we're at 26.8lbs as pictured with the
handlebar bag removed. That 26.8 pounds is with the Campee F27 rack, with
the fenders,
I've been considering doing this to my Hillborne as well. I also remember
you posting once that you had your Hillborne down to sub-25#. How light is
this configuration?
