Bob B., Definitely, go on the June ride. It was a funny group of bike nerds who showed up for the pre-ride. There were two times that we jumped from one trail to the other and I wish I'd made a note of exactly where they were. On the first, we left the OCA in a park in Yonkers, right before

John G & Bob B, The first time I rode the OCA, I was on one of the Fall iBOB rides about 10 years ago. You can find maps on the internet, but riding with someone else is the easiest way to figure out the route when the OCA trail disappears and reappears. I rode on the Bike Snob pre-Grand

John G, Awesome! You're right, there are sections of the OCA that are really choppy, where the trail ends and you have to hop off, and find your way back to it. Very annoying, I really wish it was more continuous because there are not a lot of long, easy dirt trails around NYC. Glad you had a

There's always the south county trail starting in van cortland park connecting to the north county trail in elmsford. There is the option to take a train back on the metro north line every ten miles or so. Let me know if you ever want to ride! I'm in queens and get out just about every weekend

Hi John. Are you in the City itself? If so, the "Muffin Ride" is a good starting point. That will take you to Nyack and you can get to Bear Mountain and Harriman State Park and back again in under 100 miles. Also, as others have mentioned, Metro North is your friend. Here's a nice ride out of

John: I think most of the best rides are to be had by taking Metro North up to either Pougkeepsie or Wassaic. Some great quiet country roads to be had up there. And of course there's the Crouton Aqueduct Trail... Feel free to PM me if you want specific route suggestions. Eric On Saturday,
