Thanks everyone for all the offers and the parts. It looks like I've got
everything I need sorted out. Now I just have to wait and wrench. Oh JOY!

Nothing wrong with the Alex rims. I think they're a great deal. I like the
colored spoke nipples, too. It's a complicated story involving the drive
train, not worth going into. But zero issues with the Alex rims that came
stock on my 52cm Clementine. (RM18 on the 650B).
On Friday, August 11,
I also avid digit 7 v brake levers. $20 shipped.

+1 on the Atlas recommendation. Due to issues with my Clementine's stock
Alex wheelset, I upgraded to Riv's Atlas/Velocity. About a week later I hit
a pothole at night at speed and the rear rim got toasted. But I was able to
get home on it and if it were something not as robust, the situation
You guys are all really coming through! I'm replying off list to everyone,
but a huge thanks to the bunch.
Adam, what'd your friend have to do to destroy the A23s?

I'll drop it in the mail. Fits into a small envelope so it may go as
regular mail. No bolts, unfortunately.

Paul, I would go with the Atlas rims. They *might* be overkill, but they
aren't crazy heavy or anything, just good, confidence-inspiring, rim-brake
mountain touring rims. I have a set of A23's on my cross bike and I wish
they were wider. My friend destroyed a pair of A23's, just be better safe
