Probably no big deal with a tiny, light bag but expect serious
deterioration with a full sized bag. If a full sized front bag is a
priority, you'd do far better with one of these:
http://www.velo-orange.com/vorafrcoso.html

And you can buy two of them for the price of a Roadeo, and still have
enough left over to fully build up one of them.

My Barley came with matching straps - perhaps they were extra, I don't
recall - for exactly that purpose. They're visible here:

That's exactly the sort of light bag I had in mind when I said a light

Another Carradice bag that deserves consideration is the Cadet. Capacious
without the smaller outer pockets (It's the guts of a Nelson or Nelson

The Barley (11 x 6) has 7 liters of space and retails for $109.00

The Cadet (14 x 10) has 13 liters of space and retails for $85.00.

And for good measure, the Junior, 8 liters for $74.00 but no provision for

Another vote for the Barley. It's the default saddle bag on my

Find the outside pockets useful for keeping a spare tube on one side

If you don't need the pockets, and just a bit more space another
option could be the Sackville small.

Depends on how bulky the sweater is, or the jacket, but I might be
able to get one squeezed in there, not both; but could lash one or

The large bag might work better, but, on a Roadeo, I'd probably not
want to go much larger than the medium/large.

I'd try the new Sackville BarSack, either in grey or green. Or a
Saddlesack small, if you don't mind the bag touching the backs of your

go with the BarSack, perhaps after checking with the good folks at

If you think you can get away with something a bit smaller (4+ liters

Anne,

I don't know if you are putting racks (front or rear) on you Roadeo. If you
are, Acorn's Boxy Rando Bag is certainly an option if you want a front bag.
Otherwise, I'd go for the Large Saddlebag. I have all the Acorn bags and
have yet to decide what is my preferred combination. I even have duplicates
of the Boxy and the Large Saddlebag in tan and black, trying to decide which
set I keep and which set I sell. Initially I got the tan ones, but then got
the black ones and I'm leaning towards how the black set fit in both my AHH
(Waterford blue) and my Bombadil (Dark Green). I don't know how my dark
green compares to the British Racing Green, but I love how the black bags
look on it. It may be because I have a B17 in BRG as well as XT/RaceFace
drivetrain in black.

If you were to take advantage of the opportunity to get a hard to catch
Acorn Large Saddlebag in black, there is one in stock right now! You'll
never know when another one will be available. As others have said, every
first of every month, I've seen the available stock dissapear in minutes!

Then again, if you get the bag now, you'll have no option but to get the
bike!
