Since you guys keep talking about hats, I'll go ahead and add that I
made the Tilley commitment today. I pulled the trigger on the T4 and
it looks like it'll meet my needs nicely.
I'm as ready for summer in Texas as I can be.

I've read all the replies but I'm wondering for those who recommend
the boonie and Tilley type hats, how do you keep the front brim from
blowing up against the center part of the hat while riding, thus
defeating the purpose of any sun-shading/blocking? I've tried

I gave up on these kinds of hats (though the boonie is my favorite off-
bike hat), and wear a baseball cap instead while on the bike. It's
the only one I've found that the brim stays down shading my face,
which I think is where you'd want the shading. Curious how others
fare.

I'm curious about all those wide brimmed hats for riding. I just has some

The problem with the filson is that you can't wash it
all that well, not so bad in the rainy winter,
but funky in the summer sun.

The one I wear the most is by Tilley

(Mine is a T2, but back then there were only two styles available.)

I have two Tilleys, an olive T3 that's a bit warm for summer around

if I were to buy another for summer wear.
