During the conversion of the Redwood, I finally came to the realization about overall wheel diameter. Granted, larger tires will have more tire drop so that will affect overall bb height during riding. However, consider the overall wheel diameter of a 700c wheel with a skinny tire - 700cx23mm

Redwood fit 35mm 700c tires, could possibly squeeze in fenders, but it'd be really tight. I believe it would fit Compass' Barlow Pass tires just fine. I was content with it set up as a 700c road bike, but I had parts on hand to experiment with. I'm riding it a whole lot more with the 650b
