Hi everyone,
I did a quick search, but this topic did not come up. Sorry if its a
repeat.
The other day, the Adventure Cyclists eDigest featured a list of holiday
book recommendations. There are some interesting books on the list. I
invite you all to take a look.
What makes this reading
I'm in Charlotte, NC. Not usually a problem. I don't usually u lock my
helmet to make sure others can lock to the rack in case space is limited.
I found out after the fact that a shoplifter was apprehended at that
location and time. So I filed a police report in case any property was
Yeah, definitely sounds like I got the wrong one. I'll have to contact them.
Now I'm just hoping I didn't damage the frame.
I think I'll be good with 250. But thanks for the insight and info!

I think I remember Grant saying he thought the newly designed seat cluster
was really strong and able to take a lot, and a repeated "a lot" at that.
It seems like it should be fine but, yeah, a call to them Monday would be
a good thing.
Congrats on the new frame! It will be interesting to
I just got my frame, a 61.5/700c and it uses a 27.2 seat post. Based on
what you are saying, I would think a call would be in order to Rivendell as
I think there was a mix-up. If you have access to a 27.2 post, in your
parts stash or from another bike, it would be a useful test to try that!
Just wanted to say how great this group is. In the past weeks I had some great
correspondence with members over the Roadeo and Roadini, bought a Roadini off a
member, sold a Flannel to a member, and had a member send me a canti brake
spring free of charge. It is great to be in a community of
I listed this in SF Bay Area Craigslist but I'm located in Fairfield right
between SF and Sacramento. Listed at $600 but willing to sell for $500 to RB1
member. Did a few replacements listed in the ad:

My goal is to ride my bike more than I drive. Last year I drove about 1986
miles on my car and rode 5000 miles. I'll hit 5,000 again as I'm just 100
miles away which I'll ride in a week.

What size seatpost does the frame use? Does frame size change the diameter? The
frame came to me with a 26.8 x 250. I think it's too small as I have the clamp
bolt tightened all the way down. Afraid to give it too much more force.

The one they sent with the frame is indeed a 27.2 x 250.
I already had a Nitto S83 waiting (27.2 x 300) so I did not even try the
one they sent. As far as the length goes, I could be fine with a 250
(versus the 300) as I am at the very lowest end of the PBH range for the

the full $1,650 price that's on the web site. I'll take $1,400 and I will

It's also good to remember John and Rivelo in Portland. I wanted a Banana Sax
for the Hunq a few months ago and Riv was out of stock. I got it from Rivelo.
It was the grey grid but IIRC he had all colors at the time.
