[RBW] Re: Rear racks for kid seats

2018-10-31 Thread Mohammad Sahrapour
I've used the blackburn ex-1 with the co-pilot taxi seat on a few bikes.
It's not the fanciest seat, but it's worked fine for us and the rack is
very secure. I have the rack on a few bikes and my wife and I move the seat
between the bikes when we're going on a ride. Overall, I've been happy with
the setup.

what's with that holland bike shop and the low prices? it's saying i can
get a yepp maxi and rack for $158 usd, whereas it'd be $300 through a u.s.
store (and also the yepp seats in the u.s. are not thule, but the ones in
europe are not?

[RBW] Re: Rear racks for kid seats

2018-10-30 Thread Kainalu V.
Yepp makes a rear rack that works with their seat, and it's bombproof. They
also make an adapter that can be fitted to a tubus rack, this is probably
what makes Tubus nervous about saying you could put a kid back there, they
have to trust everyones ability to mount an adapter securely. The dedicated
Yepp rack will make the seat slightly lower profile, making it that 1.5"
more stable. And yes, Yepp seats are the best.

Here's a link to the Yepp
rack-

And the
adapter-

[RBW] Re: Rear racks for kid seats

2018-10-30 Thread David B
I ended up getting a beefy steel rack that is designed specifically for the
Yepp Maxi rear seat with ez-fit window.
I was hesitant about using a rack adapter to fit a rear seat, so this
solved all my problems.
It also fits a rear taillight as well.
Got mine from Holland Bikeshop.
This rack:
