I realize you're looking for general recommendations, but here's a nice example
on the list of what Bill was discussing. 170 arms might be to short for you,
but you can mount small rings on it.

Any 110 bcd crank can be run ss with a short enough bb and the ring either
on the outside or the inside position. Me, I use the old Pro 5 Vis which
are available new (expensive) and used (onlist, cheapish). And there are
