This man wrote me about a generator/inverter compatibility problem he's
having. I haven't heard of it before. I suspect it's more than just a simple
voltage-frequency issue, but I haven't heard of this or experienced it. Any
ideas?

I have never used that Honda into a 4024 but have used the other inverter
generators with good results.
Sounds like the problem is in the Honda, everything else has been
eliminated.
The problem is convincing the dealer.

Does the Honda have a eco-throttle setting that throttles back
under light load? If so, turn it off so the inverter sees full
voltage and frequency and can sync with no other loads on.

If it has a board there are 2 set screws that are adjustable [ 1- upper set
point 2 lower set point for reconnect] and you need to read the current
voltage and then apply a simple formula [using a calculator] figure out the

About 18 months age (?) I inquired on the list about radio interference
from a somewhat early version of the Magnum MS4024 which I put in my
off-grid home (replacing an SW4024 which was fried by an amazing lightning
strike). Never had any radio interference that I noticed with the SW.
I have always had problems with AM radio in my remote home. I have more
problems when it is connected to AC or DC for power. Try running it on
batteries. I switched to a CCrane internet radio and now I get 1000s of
stations very clear, but you need broadband internet.

change. The radio was/is the Sangean and it doesn't matter if I use the AC
adapter or battery power. My Bose has no issues with FM but forget AM. Same

Point of information.we have been using a Honda EM7000is for 5 years with
dual SW4024s in an off grid system with absolutely no issues. We leave the

This is a brand new 5000 US. EMT on all dc runs. The radio is a
BOSE...and is 27 feet away. The interference is runs 24/7... so it must be AC
related.
I found out today that roam (or freedom) phones do not work at this home.

Does the radio noise go away when you completely disconnect the SMA
