Larry, for a while in the 80's Zomewworks offered a small DC bubbler to keep ice from skimming over livestock tanks. This was a standard aquarium air pump with a tiny diaphragm. I think it was a very good idea and worked well, but for a larger pond, I am certain I've seen this application before.

Jeff's idea is good, but I think the only potential violation of the listing of the service panel, would be if you drilled and tapped into the buss bar. Tapping the cable w/ a listed connector shouldn't cause any trouble to the service panel. (230.33 specifically allows the service cable

Jeff, This is any easy one. REPLACE THAT ZINSCO SERVICE PANEL!!! That is just a fire waiting to happen. I wouldn't touch it with a 10'pole. There are all kinds of horror stories all over the internet about Zinsco panels causing fires. There is a reason why they are no longer in business.

Look into the Magnum inverters as 2nd chargers, very good chargers with generators. I have done this many times, in the case of failure of the other inverters for some reason, run wires and be back up and running. I think the 4448 inverter is 60 amps @ 48 volts with an input of 16 or so amps
