One of our local utilities just denied the use of the ConnectDER... some
nonsense about excess weight if the customer also has a surge suppressor
and generator input collar device already. They just blanket prohibited it
even for customers that have no existing collar devices installed.
My understanding is that this needs to be approved by each individual
utility like any collar device (i.e. surge suppression). The process is not
extremely simple, but the manufacturer is looking to establish more utility
relationships. I put them in contact with our two local utilities, but no
