Patrick have you tried "kill -9 pid. Your above version 'asks' the
program to die, -9 is not so polite :)

-9 never worked for me I always use -10 and if that doesn't work I use
-20
I have a 3c579 a 3c509. The 3c579 in eth0 and is recognised at
startup. The 3c509 is not recognised at startup, I get a the
following message at startup whenever I try to activate it through
the network admin in X:
"Delaying eth1 Initialization"
eth1 in never initialized. The 579
G'Day we have a firwalled network, with masquerading setup,
everything works except the Email. Inside the network (not on the
Linux box :) there is an NT server running netscape mail server. I
need to redirect the incoming smtp connections to this server. The
current firewall setup will pass
When I compile my kernal I get the message:
as86 command not found
Any suggestions?

stuff I don't have need the file should be smaller, any suggestions

An easy one? Where on the CD is the xman package? I've looked every
where, I installed it on another machine a while back but now I can't
