I accidentally erased pg_shadow.
Is there a way to recover this ?
It seems that, without this file, I cannot connect to a database nor dump
it. Have I already lost my datas ?
Thanks a lot for your help

I administrate a network with a lot of user so I don't want to allow

Hi list,
I discovered a big problem in ftp running on my box.
Through ftp, any user can set the owner of any file, even if it doesn't
belong to him. For the moment, I disabled ftp.
Is this a problem of settings ? (I doubt !)
My config :

Yes, this is a bug. lpd tries to fork the printing process with the
username of the user who is printing.
I have submitted this bug to the RedHat bugs page.
I made some changes on the sources of the lpr package to be able to print.
If you want my solution, please mail me.

Hello,
If the user who prints from your linux box (RH 5.1) hasn't got an account
on the remote printer server, then there's a bug with lpd and he can't

This bug has been noticed to http://developer.redhat.com .
If you want, I have corrected it (very simply but it works). Mail me, and
