In article [EMAIL PROTECTED] you write: Hmm.. I'm currently thinking about upgrading from my Matrox Mystique to a Matrox Millenium II... Is it really un-usable under xfree? even the latest version? The support for the Mystique isn't 100% but I get by fine and I thank them ppl at Xfree

I just got a matox mill II, and used it w/ 3.3.1, but everyonce-in-a-while it would crash. Using rpms in contrib, I upgraded to 3.3.2, and it works *great.* I'd definitely a good choice (and if you really need good 3-d, you can get another 3d card). Chris - Visit Me At

Xi Graphics is the best display server out for Linux. Hands down. The Matrox Millenium II w/16 megs I ran was solid under AcceleratedX. As SuSE develops the Millenium II updates, it will be better for XFree86, but it's tough to even even compare it to AcceleratedX. Also, I find the tech support

We found that the CDE screen-saver (admittedly, not a particularly vital component of anything these days) was completely non-functional, and apprised Xi's tech support of this. We were promised a prompt reply. That was weeks ago, and we've since heard precisely nothing from them. This is typical

I use the XFree 3.3.2 SVGA driver with my Millinium II is it works great. I'm not sure why you think it is slow. It isn't as fast the the XiG driver, but its fast enough for just about anything you'd do. I run it at 1600x1280x16bpp and I've seen no problems. Dr Mike [EMAIL PROTECTED] --

I'm using the SVGA X server from XFree86 3.3.2 with my Millennium II -- it's fine and free. I don't know how it compares to AcelX, but I'm guessing that it's probably not quite as good, but the price/performace ratio can't be beat. =8] pete ] XiGraphics' CDE with their AcceleratedX will

I have a Matrox Mill-II vid-board and am currently running the Metro-X server distributed with RH 5. I get screen corruption when the system sits idle and was wondering what is the best server to use with this vid-board. I have used the Xfree SVGA server (3.3.1 I think) and was wondering if

XiGraphics' CDE with their AcceleratedX will run circles around most X servers. It is neither free nor cheap, and their tech support is spotty, but the difference is impressive. We use it on a Matrox Millennium 2 driving a 21" Hitachi, and it makes Linux almost user-friendly. Chuck Carson wrote:
