Thanks for the plug, but it's undeserved.
Ralph N4NEQ and Lin N4YCI developed the sum and substance of the

Hello all,
This is a bit off topic, but. hopefully someone can answer my
qeustion. I have a VHF high split(150-174) GE Mstr(not II). Is it
poosible to remove the PA and modify it for an external add on
amplifier for 2m? Has anyone done this and how did you do it and how
did it work?
Thank you
If it's a MASTR PRO PA the exciter is in the strip with the PA. How
would you power it? do you have a power supply? Honestly I don't
think it would be worth it unless you use the entire TX strip. I
think the crystals are the same.
If you decide to procede let us know how it goes.

I didn't mind the dynamotors ... servicing them wasn't a problem

Do you have the model number of that PA deck?

Hi
My experience with many panels have found the ones we
standardised on was the ZETRON 38 series.
We did this with our 19 repeaters purely because of
less glitches and they too have a relay option for a
given tone eg: external link PTT or light to be
switched on etc-or an onite voice recorder
I used a Mastr Pro VHF for a digipeater years ago. I was on a hilltop
that noone else could get anything on VHF working due to intermod and
frontend overload. The Mastr Pro preformed flawlessly! Due to the
passive front end, it seems imprevious to IM and overlaod.
Sometimes sensitivity can be
That is exactly why I refuse to get rid of three Mastr Pro UHF receivers!

Try E-bay. most folks build 900 MHz stuff from the Maxtrac's you would want
the 16 pins on the back. Maxtrac's that start with D-27 are around 10 watts
and Maxtrac's that start with D-37 are around 30 watts.
I my self bought a couple of Hamtronics repeaters but then bought some
Kenwoods from Cook
Actually I have several repeaters still as Mastr Pro's on 6 meters, 2 meters,
UHF back in the states. The receivers are very good at high RF sites (like
a lot of land mobile, TV, FM broadcast). On 2 meters UHF, I always run a
ARR GaAsFET pre-amp on them. If I didn't have TV channel 2 in

remember that the MASTR PRO had the same number of helical poles
that the MASTRII has. I do remember replacing a mixer transistor

The first active stage in the Mastr Pro was the mixer, the Mastr II has an Rf amplifier stage if my memnory serves me. That's the big difference..
As far as intermod and overload, there really is no huge difference between simplex and a repeater. Coy Hilton [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

Hello,
I am looking to replace my high schools radio club repeater antenna
setup. We are currently using a Ringo Ranger and I would like to
upgrade to a four or six dipole array. I was wondering if anyone
knew where I could pick up a dipole array {would prefer a used set
in good condition}
I am in need of a 224E anyone have one in good condition they would part
with?
Thanks,
Bob
