George,
I believe that the Firestone Tire Rubber Company was one of many firms
that produced specialized coaxial cable for the Signal Corps. That was
a LONG time ago... and it might be a challenge to obtain the proper
connectors for it. Are there any other descriptive markings on it?

I've been unable to find the specs. or any info. on some old but very good Coax I'd like to put to work. It shows F.T. R. CO. K-14, it measures 7/8 " OD w/copper braided shielding solid center conductor. Would appreciate any help.

Hi Eric, Thanks for the reply to my Coax question, The Firestone manufacture makes sense. I guess the fact that it's so old the search engine didn't recognize the F T R Co. marking. The K-14 marking is a Firestone code so it doesn't match any later codes. The only marking on the cable is F T
Sounds like it might be rg-17, rg-218, of rg-219.
rg-17 has about the same attenuation as 9913 at 450mhz.
Not nearly as good as LDF5

Thanks Dick, I forgot about Batlabs when I was searching. For anyone who

Thanks to all who answered my questions about the sixteen pin Vs the five

The big question would be if it is 50 ohm. You can roughly calculate it by
measuring the diameter of the center conductor, the diameter of the
dielectric (which will give you the inside diameter of the outer shield)
and the type of dielectric. Foam, etc.

Hello Group,
Does anyone have experience in converting a Crystal Controlled 450
Delta S to a Repeater or Link application??
Problem #1: Is is crystal controlled (Delta), or is it a Delts S
(synthesized)? It can't be both.
